Get stuck in with clay and make your very own Halloween pumpkin or ghost! 🎃👻

In this fun, hands-on workshop, we'll learn how to pinch and shape clay using our hands, then add features and details to bring our Halloween characters to life.

We'll finish by painting our creations with coloured slip before they go off to be glazed and fired. It's a chance to get creative, practise those hand skills and make something you'll be able to bring out for Halloween for years to come!

What We'll Be Doing 🎨

🎃 What Will We Make?

You'll learn how to make your own little Halloween character from clay, using the pinch-pot technique.

Once you've created the basic shape, we'll have fun adding details and features — think faces, eyes, spooky expressions, stems, ears, arms and anything else that helps give your character some personality!

You'll then use coloured slip to paint your creation before we take care of the glazing and firing here at the studio.

👻 What You'll Take Home

At the end of the session, you'll choose one of your creations to keep.

We'll then glaze and fire it in our kiln so it's ready to collect once it's finished.

Collection will be approximately 4 weeks after the workshop.

🎃 We know Halloween will have passed by then! Unfortunately, pottery needs time to dry and go through the kiln, so we can't get your finished piece back to you in time for this Halloween. But you'll have it ready to bring out for next year's Halloween decorations — and every spooky season after that!

👐 Learning Through Making

This workshop is all about learning with your hands. Pinching, shaping, joining and adding details to clay helps children develop hand strength, coordination and dexterity — while having lots of fun along the way.

There’s no pressure to make a perfect pumpkin or ghost. We'll show you how to do it, then you can add your own ideas and personality to your creation.

Please bring an apron or wear old clothes — pottery can get messy!

Enrolment Form: After booking, you’ll receive a short enrolment form via email. This needs to be completed before the workshop.
