Design Your Own Ceramic Board Game Workshop

Build, design and play your own handmade ceramic board game

Get creative in this fun and imaginative pottery workshop where children will design and build their very own ceramic board game from clay.

Choose from classic favourites such as noughts and crosses, snakes and ladders, mini golf or chess, or invent a completely original game of your own. Using a range of pottery techniques, participants will create a unique game board along with handmade playing pieces to match.

Suitable for ages 10+, with no previous pottery experience required.
What’s Included
  • Three-hour guided pottery workshop
  • Drawing and planning activities to develop ideas
  • Small group discussions and individual support from tutor Jess
  • Hands-on clay building using slab construction and sculptural techniques
  • Decorating with colourful ceramic slips
  • All clay, tools and equipment provided
  • Glazing and kiln firing of finished work
  • Finished board game ready to collect approximately 4 weeks after the workshop

  • Sketching and planning your board game design
  • Sharing ideas and receiving feedback in small groups
  • Learning pottery techniques through demonstrations and examples
  • Building your game board and playing pieces from clay
  • Adding colour, pattern and detail using ceramic slips
  • Creating a finished game ready for firing and future play

Parent/Guardian Info

Please bring an apron or wear old clothes for your child—pottery can get messy!

Enrolment Form: After booking, you’ll receive a short enrolment form via email. If you plan to stay at the studio for the duration of the workshop, you do not need to complete the form. However, your child will remain your responsibility during the session. If you leave the studio, the form must be completed before your child can participate.

Note: If your child has any allergies, medical conditions, or special needs, please inform us in advance so we can ensure their safety and comfort during the workshop.
